posted 6 months ago

Your pet cat may be gaining on years as your once active cat is now having a hard time reaching the kitty litter box and is found to be catching some snooze more than often not. When this happens, then it may seem that your cat is entering the stages of its golden years. Your once hyper cat loves to stay in one place all day. And when it does happen, you need to tune in to the special needs and attention of your senior feline pet.

As they age, they tend to seek warmer spots in the house. Make sure that your pet cat is comfortable however make sure that the temperature is not set to a hot temperature, as this might cause burns for your beloved cat.

Set a regular check up with the vet. Keeping tabs with your local vet is also highly suggested as they can monitor your cat's health as they reach their golden years. Before the cat's life expectancy is around 8 to 10 years, but with advances in medical care for animals, nutrition and environment, cats tend to live longer than those years. However, taking your pet cat for their routine check-up should be followed just to make sure that your cat is not suffering from any illnesses caused by its age.

In order to prevent any mess, make sure to station additional litter boxes in every floor of the house or any areas in the house where your pet cat usually stays. Placing their water bowl and other necessities is also a good idea when your cats are unable to reach they areas where their necessities are placed.
