All about Pinterest
If you’re one of the very few who are not yet obsessed with Pinterest, then maybe it’s high time you do a little research on why more and more people are signing up with this latest social media platform. Pinterest is basically like your online scrapbook, where you can “pin” pictures of almost anything. It’s either you upload your own pictures, or you simply “repin” photos from other users. There’s also a new tool where you can “pin” photos directly from the web.
Pinterest allows you to combine your interests and online social life all at once. By creating “pin boards”, you can easily manage all your pictures based on their category (ex. For the Home, My Style, Fine Arts, etc.). Socializing in Pinterest comes in when other users find your “pins” and follow your board. Once followed, they will receive updates and notifications about new pins from you. Now, if you’re still wondering why people are addicted to Pinterest, here’s why:
- It’s free and easy to use. – A quick sign up and you’re ready to create your “online scrapbook”. It’s easy to collect or “pin” images. One click and it’s there on your own pin board.
- It’s about your INTERESTS. – There’s a lot going on in other social media platforms. Pinterest is different from the others because it is only about what you like.
- It’s a place to discover new things. – With Pinterest, there is no limit in what you can discover visually. There’s always something for everybody.
- It can be used as an Online Gallery to sell your work. – Some artists are already using Pinterest to earn. They use it to display their work and to gain exposure as well.
Next time you go online, try to sign up and create your own board. Search for things that you like, pin as many as you want, and discover new things that simply interest you. After all, it’s not called Pinterest for nothing.
